Shopping on 7th Avenue
Park Slope's center for all activity, this is a more established commercial area where you'll find a Starbucks, Barnes & Noble and Rite Aid. There are also some really nice gift shops and some cute clothing boutiques.
31
Shopping on 5th Avenue
The new strip in Park Slope, this street has developed into a great place to shop, with a lot of little home-grown and interesting shops selling everything from modern cardboard furniture to super-hero supplies, not to mention great cafes and bars.
32
Shopping in "BoCoCa"
The intersection of Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens has become an area filled with artsy boutiques, vintage shops and yoga emporiums. Shop on Atlantic Avenue, Smith & Carroll Streets up to Union Street.
33
The Promenade, Brooklyn Heights
It's a fairly short stretch, but it's a lovely place to stroll, or sit in the evening and look out over where the East River & the Hudson come together, not to mention all the skyscrapers on the other side.
34
Walking Across the Brooklyn Bridge
Enter on the Brooklyn end at the intersection of Tillary & Adams Streets, or at Cadman Plaza West / Washington Street where there is a little stairwell under the bridge. Keep to the pedestrian side (the right) of the bridge, and watch carefully for bikes.

Public Transportation

The fastest way to get around by far is the subway. With a map and some flexibility you can get just about anywhere. If it's late at night, however, and you would rather not wait an extra 10 minutes on a subway platform, jump in a yellow cab or car service.

Car Services

A car service from Brooklyn Heights to Park Slope should cost about $7 plus tip. Here are a few of the many services in Brooklyn which should come within 10 minutes of a call. I also find it helpful to ask the dispatcher what the fee is going to be before getting off the phone.

Evelyn Car Service, Vanderbilt Avenue (718) 230-7800

Promenade Car & Limo Service Montague Street (718) 858-6666

Cheers Car Service Atlantic Avenue (718) 965-1616
