Guest Book

  • Dear Mrs. Urch,
I sent a note last week but, according to your guest book, it doesn't look like you got it. It was so good to see pictures of you and the kids - the kids are all beautiful. You must be so proud. Where did Duke's blond hair go?!! I so enjoyed helping you when they were little. It was such a good experience for me. I have a lot of good memories of you and Kaki, Helen, Jean and Duke. I am praying for you and your family during this difficult time. Love, Susan Carroll Rice

  • Joan and family,
I know I haven't been around much, but I have tried to stay up to date on everything through Joan..... with her updates I felt like I haven't missed a beat. She is a dear friend of mine and I am praying for her, and for you all. I love you all very much. I am here for you if you need anything at all. Please let Joan know that I love her, and I will keep her in my prayers.

I am so glad Margo told me about this site. Whoever set it up did a beautiful job. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily and I believe in miracles too. God Bless You and may he give you the strength to fight this.

  • Hi Joan and Family,
I have just returned from BC, Canada and Martine called with your horrid news. It sucks. Was it serendipity that we saw you at the Bluff! I am so glad that we reconnected and I can't tell you how sad I feel for you, kids, friends and me. The pictures of you and kids are so great, the web site so impressive - What a very fine family you have raised. I send our love and prayers. I hope that I can learn from your strength and goodness.
    love, Audrey and Mike

  • Hello Joan,
Found out today about this wonderful website when I ran into Margo. It is a wonderful idea. You have such wonderful children. I guess Helen is now know as Tanner. I got a little confused reading the notes! From your old neighbor, and of course Spinster from FHS. Louise Roach

  • Dear Helen, Kak, Jean and Duke,
Just wanted you to know since Helen's phone call to us, actually she was trying to reach Carolyn, your Mom and you are all in our daily thoughts and prayers. What a strong and marvelous person your Mother is and has been throughout her life. Yes, Joan definitely is a southern woman filled with strength, tenacity and faith. What more proof than her strong and resilient children who surround her with their love and care at this time. Be assured that there is a chain of love and energy formed by all the friends and family of your Mom who all wish for nothing less than a miracle. Again, thinking of you and wishing there was more we could do to help at this difficult time.
All our love, Shirley and Ian

  • We are at such a loss for words(imagine that, yes it's true) to express not only our love for Tanner but our fond memories of "A Night With Joan" last year at Tanner's. We knew the mother of Tanner & Duke would be one heck of a lady but our wonderful surprise was how much fun Joan is. (We shared the outdoor smoking table and enjoyed every moment) Our thoughts, love and prayers are with each of you every hour. Joan, you have such a wonderful smile, and by the way who's that hot chick on the home page?

  • Mrs. Urch, You have enriched my life for as long as I can remember, with scavenger hunts, wonderful costumes, sage advice (which sunk in even when it didn't seem to) and teachings on love and life. I feel so lucky to have seen you more often recently, and hope to get another big hug from you real soon. You are in all my thoughts and prayers, and with this email comes loads of love, Carolyn PS I heard through the local grape vine of "a recent siting of Mrs. Urch in Rowayton, looking like a gorgeous bombshell and just like Helen!" - honestly, according to Amy Kitzerow.

  • Aunt Jo
Sure do wish that I were there
To X and O you, 'cause I care
About you -- aunts like you are rare!
And so, although I am not where
I wish I could be, there is n'er
An hour that passes without prayer
